AMBIENT HOUSE, A SYNTHWAVE INSPIRATION

New post on the web, and new addition to the community section. Today I would like to introduce you to an electronic music artist and producer from the synthwave scene. I present to you all my friend Ambient House.

Who´s Ambient House?

Ambient House is the name of a musical project behind which is a guy from Northern Ireland, whom I met last year on Instagram and who wants to remain anonymous, reminds me of someone...

We started talking about music technology and listening to each other's songs, and the truth is that our conversations were very interesting. He has been making music since the 90s, as I have, and we have lived the evolution of music technology in a beautiful stage, the transition from classical hardware to software thanks to the development of computers. Finding someone to talk to about our early sequencers, or multitrack cassette recorders, is endearing...

Ambient House creates inspiring electronic music, with a lot of passion and feeling, moving between styles such as chillout, ambient or trance. It´s better that he explains to you himself...

Nobody better to talk about Ambient House than Ambient House, right?

"Music has been a big part of my life since the day I picked up a guitar and realised I could play it without any knowledge of music notation or scales. I had been in a number of alternative rock bands which gave me some insight into music and the music industry, getting into house and dance music really blew my mind in terms of scope and where the genre could go. I did a lot of early synth work as a result and that’s were it stopped up until recently, or as early as over a year ago when I finally decided to upload my music onto the internet, I have well over 15 years of music hanging around on my computer of which I have well over 30 tracks available across multiple platforms.

My music ranges from totally immersive Ambient, Chill-out music to Trance music and all of my work can be considered as Synth Wave. Some of this work is very early and you can hear the pure rawness of some of these earlier tracks, as I began to cut my teeth in the industry.

My music inspiration comes from the early days of Heavy Metal with bands like Metallica, Megadeath, AC/DC, Faith No More and Def Leppard, these were some of my really early turn ons, this then switched to the grunge era with bands like: Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden, and Smashing Pumpkins. Sometime after this I started to find bands like: The Prodigy, Daft Punk and Orbital, then I accidentality came across Pink Floyd and to hear and realise what this band was doing back in the 70’s with synth blew me away which pushed me to look at other artists like: David Bowie it was also around this time that I was discovering trance and house music with the likes of: Paul Okenfold, Tiesto and Pete Tong who were all doing there own mixes of artists like: Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, Chicane, Underworld and Sasha.

Over this past few years I have found my self taken prisoner by Vapor Wave and the Indie artist of Synth Wave like: Carbon Based Lifeforms, Tycho, Bonobo, Washed Out and The Midnight. I am really impressed with the indie artists of course I can’t not mention Enimatik, Static Autumn Sunset, Moongem, Ben Blackett and Noisy Suace.

My music or my sound is still finding it’s feet as I am in the early stages of experimentations with recent albums like: “Senses” which is really early work, 0f course you can find more of this work on the links provided. I came out with an album last year called "Future Times" and a more current album that I have just finished is called “The Rainbow Express” which is the music I have always dreamed of creating and I am really happy with.

My new work “Aquarius” is still in it’s early stages and instead of releasing tracks as they are done, I am giving this album a different take as in creating all of the melody and notation work first then moving to arrangement and early post production, I may release a track or two at this point and then one final track to promote the album which will be heard in it’s entirety from download sources like Bandcamp."

For me it has been comforting to find a person with whom to share knowledge and doubts about music and technology. Remembering machines from the 90s that today are antiques makes me smile and reminds me that we are both lucky to have a perspective that only the years can give.

His music seems amazing to me. "Shared Dream", from his album "Future Times", it´s a beautiful, inspiring song that invites you to close your eyes and meditate while listening to it, I really like it:

"Sector One", from his album "The Rainbow Express", is another track that I like a lot too. Featuring the vocalist Xanthe, this song is an ambient-dance hipnotic music, and the second part of the related album.

I love his music, I can appreciate my friend's musical background, the years of experience in music creation and production, which allows him to create these inspiring tracks for me. We agree on quite a few of his varied musical influences, and I really perceive an evolution in his music that I'm sure will catch you.
