LOST INSIDE MYSELF

This June I release a new song, "Lost inside myself", which again features Jane Demonroads as vocalist and Renat Hassler as visual creator. A song that delves into the Gothic theme from a visual aesthetic perspective, and into industrial sounds for its arrangements and dark atmosphere.

Like all Enimatik songs, "Lost inside myself" has an intimate story behind it, if you want to know it, keep reading...

The inspiration

Jane, Renat and I, as you can imagine, we talk quite often. We talk, from the distance that separates us, about our lives, about music, about art, about problems, concerns, projects... A few weeks ago I was talking to Jane about the situation in her country, Russia, given the concern that I was worried about the situation in the streets of Moscow that I had news about.

Jane was telling me about the situation of the youth in her country, very different from that of the West in several aspects, and she was also explaining to me their concerns and fears. Afraid of the future a young princess with her talent?

From these conversations and from material that Renat regularly creates, the inspiration to create "Lost inside myself" emerged one night. We really have a special connection ...

The song

"Lost inside myself" delves into the Gothic aesthetic of Renat's visual art, which is reflected in the three promo videos that appear in this post and on my social networks. And, of course, on the cover of the song, an extraordinary photograph of Renat, without processing or filters by the way. The stage for the visual content is an abandoned building, which also served as the inspiration for previous songs. Thanks to Renat's art, it is possible to capture moments past for eternity, he is able to capture the spirit of a place, current, present and future...

On the musical side, the song mixes electro-industrial sounds with an atmospheric pad that I love, a chillstep rhythmic base and a really powerful bass, with beautiful sub frequencies. The vocal part mixes Jane's voice with mine, and in the choruses it has a sweet and melodious nuance, while in the rest of the song I have tried to give it a dark character through processing and mixing.

The message

Each of us can feel something different when listening to the same song, but the essence of "Lost inside myself", for me, is the message that, despite the despair and pain that we may suffer every day, nothing can take away our true feelings, our hope, and no one can avoid a change of fate. A change that can be caused in the most subtle way within ourselves, by a fleeting thought, an inner reflection, an unexpected personal situation...

We must never lose hope, faith in a change to something better. Like Jane on the cover of the song, sometimes we just have to wait looking at a window...
