I am really happy to present to you the first Enimatik album, a compilation of the most danceable songs that I have published during these years. Tangible proof that the project has reached a maturity that I could not have been imagined when it was born, a few years ago...
Enimatik was born more than four years ago, and during this time it has been evolving and experimenting in many ways. From chillstep to hard electronic styles, Enimatik has given me absolute creative freedom, perhaps what I missed most before of my creative break in the first decade of this century.
I had previously published two EPs, Dark love and Anilatian, with five songs included each. The first one with romantic songs, the second one with my first chillstep songs. I have great affection for both of them, they made me feel that, step by step, Enimatik was consolidating, maturing, growing. I had created a sufficient number of songs, in each of their respective styles, enough to create a small compilation, with a new cover, a new identity. It was an amazing process for me.
And suddenly, at the beginning of this year, after a while without thinking seriously about it, I had the idea of making another compilation of songs, of creating something new with the songs already published. The truth is that choosing the songs was easy, since Enimatik had a large number of dance songs, which had not appeared together before. Given the number of songs, eight, I could no longer talk about an EP, but rather an album. This is how the idea of Black ritual was born...
Selecting the eight Black ritual songs was easy, but I must confess that the complicated part for me was choosing the order. They are all dance songs, but there really is a diversity of styles, darktechno, electro, technopop... There are songs sung by me alone, instrumentals, and several in which my beloved Jane and Nana sing, Two lovely girls to whom I miss, and Enimatik owes so much ❤
The songs included in the album are:
-Hard.
-Desires.
-Fallen.
-Gothicromance Mo Cuishle remix.
Several of the songs included have been remastered, seeking to obtain a greater quality of sound compared to the original version, which in some cases, was published several years ago. Thanks to new tools added during these last months to my sequencer I believe I have achieved greater sound quality and uniformity with the most modern songs. I must say that it has been very gratifying to master again songs which are several years old, something that I really had not planned to do. Reopening the original project, praying that it was not damaged, was a challenge 😆
Tanya
I'm sure that many of you have been amazed by the cover of Black ritual, right?
And I could say that Tanya came to Enimatik because destiny wanted it, let me explain.
Two years ago I saw a profile on Instagram that caught my attention instantly, there were inside high quality photographs. Anddarksky had a really cool collection of photographs, mostly in black and white, with a dark, urban and nature aesthetic. I was impressed not only by the quality and her refined technique as a photographer, but also by the sensations they provoked inside me, in my imagination. It's hard to explain, but it's reality, and it had happened to me before.
We began to follow each other, and as I explored her work in depth, I realized that she, Tanya, a beautiful and enigmatic woman from eastern Europe, had a special talent, something that connected deeply with my artistic sensibility. I was impatiently waiting for her new posts and stories, I really became a passionate fan of Tanya. I even contacted her to express my admiration for her talent, which she kindly appreciated. And suddenly, when I started working on Black Ritual a few weeks ago and started looking for the visual part of the album, the idea arose in my head to ask Tanya. I really had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
The truth is that she couldn't have been more kind and cordial, she immediately agreed to my proposal, which made me very excited...
So you can get to know Tanya more, nothing better than her own words...
"Photography for me is, first of all, a way of self-expression. It helps me to relax and abstract from problems. Secondly, I like black, gothic, gloom. And also the view of branches in the dark.
Long walks in the evening and photography are one of the best ways to spend time.
I think my style and worldview were influenced by my passion for such styles as abstraction, surrealism, post-apocalypse. Among the artists, I will give an example of Giger and Beksinski."
I immediately fell in love with her dark art, her urban and nature photos are a source of feelings and inspiration for me. Most of her photographs are in black and white, which gives them an intimate and special character. I see in them, in my imagination, romanticism, serenity, melancholy... I really think that Tanya has a huge talent for dark aesthetics, which I like so much, and which fits so well with the spirit of Enimatik.
I can tell you that, since Tanya and I have connected artistically, our collaboration has only just begun. There is a lot of empathy between us, a deep latent connection until we get to know each other and be able to merge our artistic talents. It´s something beautiful.
I seriously believe there is something special and mysterious which connects me artistically with eastern Europe, perhaps a feeling of melancholy, those gray and serene landscapes, the natural beauty and elegance of its women, those cloudy skies, the intimate and decadent atmosphere of its cities... I can't explain it.
I hope you like Black ritual, I believe it´s an nice compilation of dark dance music, with songs created in different stages of Enimatik, and that really represents the evolution and maturity of the project.
I invite you to discover Tanya's work on her Instagram profile @anddarksky, I'm sure you're going to love it.
I want to deeply thank Tanya for her kindness and charm, as well as Jane and Nana, who you can follow on their profiles @the_victim_of_a_maniac and @wild_nana_angel.
